England timely loss reminder for India :

If you thought only India were capable of losing miserably, you were wrong. England, the No. 1 ranked Test team in the world, are now sailing in the same boat as the Indians after losing the first Test in Dubai by ten wickets on Thursday against a brilliant Pakistan.

England were defeated inside three days, putting us in mind of India's loss in Perth last week.

It will be interesting to see whether they will be subjected to as much scrutiny as the Indian team whose world has come crashing down since that humiliation at the hands of Australia at the WACA.

All those who have been out with their machetes over the last few days to decapitate the Indian players must hold back and admire the game for its erratic, glorious and romantic nature.

Who would have thought that England would surrender in that fashion to a Pakistani team doing its damnedest to win its fans back, who are disillusioned since the spot-fixing revelations in 2010?
The England defeat tells you that this game is a great leveller. One day a team will be on top of the world, the next it reaches its nadir.
