Michael Clarke drives down the ground, Australia v India, 4th Test, Adelaide, 2nd day, January 25, 2012

India were set to face 21 overs before stumps on the second day in Adelaide after Michael Clarke declared Australia's innings closed at 7 for 604.

The Australians added 35 runs after tea for the loss of no wickets and Clarke called his men in with Brad Haddin unbeaten on 42 and Ryan Harris on 35.

By batting on after tea, Clarke made India start a sixth session in the field, and the end of Australia's innings could not come quick enough for India on another day of Australian domination during which Clarke and Ricky Ponting both posted double-centuries.

Their 386-run partnership was the fourth-highest of all time for Australia in Test cricket, and all three of the stands above them on the list featured Don Bradman.
